XX Anniversary of Erasmus, Katowice 20th of April,

On a twentieth of April, ESN University of Economics in Katowice is organizing solemn celebrations of Jubilee of Erasmus Program.

We start with an official meeting with the Rector of the University of Economics in Katowice. Then we expect to hear a lecture given by the Ambassador of Canada in Poland, Mr. David Preston. Afterwards, there is a short discussion between Polish and Erasmus students with the company of the council of Katowice about cultural differences in European countries, different systems of studies and stereotypes.

At Midday, after a coffee break, we planned to do a quiz for Erasmus Students concerning their knowledge about Poland and announce results of the contest „Discovery Europe”. The completion of the part of XX Anniversary of Erasmus that takes place in the buildings of the University is a performance of “Silesian” – university's dance team.

In the early afternoon begins the “European Barbeque” – next to the university`s dormitories. Besides typical components of a grill happening, we organize many contests and plays like face painting, tape play, tug-of-war or balloon war, also mini tournament of football - Europe plays Poland.

About 8 p.m. the Big Bus Party is planned celebrating this specific occasion. This amazing party in an open bus that goes through the main streets in Katowice, straight to the Club Poziom 3 where we have the finishing line. The final of the celebrations is an unrepeatable Erasmus Birthday Party with many surprises and an enormous birthday cake.
