When I first arrived, the beauty of the city of Naples struck me and I couldn´t but love Naples from the first second! The feeling of liberty and the scent of the small vicoli were just right for me and the people welcomed me as if I were a part of their family. The language, that I thaught would be italian, was a beautiful mixture of italian, greek, latin, spanish and the influences of the villages surrounding Naples and it took a while before I could understand il napoletano but after breaking the linguistic code it was a beauty to be able to talk to everyone in their laguage and in their dialect.
The memory of the year at the Università Federico II in Naples and the time spent in our dorm, where I was the only foreigner among the italian students, is very bright and if I were to do it all over again I wouldn´t change a thing!
